What We Do
Tree work in Dublin gardens is rarely the textbook job. Tight access, neighbours' fences inches away, cars to work around, sometimes a power line in the wrong place. We've spent years doing it in Cabra, Glasnevin, Drumcondra and the rest of D7 and D15, so we know what works.

Pruning & Crown Reduction
Reducing the size or shape of a tree without killing it. Good for letting more light into a garden or stopping a tree from outgrowing the space.
Hedge Cut-Back
Hard cut-back on overgrown hedges — Leylandii, laurel, beech, escallonia, the lot. Reshape and bring back to a manageable size.
Stump Grinding
Grinding old stumps out to 200–300mm below ground level so you can plant over the spot or lay turf. Saves you trying to dig a stubborn root system out by hand.
Storm Damage
Trees down on a fence or shed after a storm? We'll clear, make safe, and remove. Same-week response in most cases.
Waste & Chip Removal
Everything goes when we go — branches, trunk, chippings. Or if you want logs kept back for a wood burner, we'll cut and stack.
When To Call Us In
Call us if: a tree is leaning the wrong way, branches are touching the house or scraping windows in the wind, the canopy is killing the lawn underneath, the hedge has eaten more than 30cm of garden, or storm damage has left something hanging or down.
Don't risk DIY if: the tree is over 4–5m, anywhere near a fence, wire or building, or has a heavy lean. A chainsaw plus a ladder plus an awkward tree is how people end up in A&E. Cost of a quote from us is nothing.
Common Questions
Do I need permission to remove a tree in Dublin?
For most domestic trees in private gardens you don't need planning permission to fell or prune. The exception is trees with a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or trees in a Conservation Area — for those you need council approval first. We'll check before any work starts and won't touch a tree that needs a permit until it's cleared.
Are you insured?
Yes — full public liability insurance for all tree work. We'll send you a copy of the cert with the quote if you'd like to see it. Tree work in tight Dublin gardens needs the right insurance and the right gear, so don't be shy about asking any contractor for proof.
What does it cost to remove a tree in Dublin?
Depends on the size, the access (back garden vs. front), whether it's near power lines, and whether you want the stump ground out. A small back-garden tree might be €250–€500. A large mature tree with awkward access can run €800–€2,000+. We'll always quote on-site, never sight-unseen.
Will you take all the wood and waste away?
Yes — chip, log and waste removal is included in the quote. If you want to keep some logs for the firepit or wood burner, just say so and we'll stack them for you.
Do you grind stumps as well?
Yes — stump grinding is a standard add-on. We grind to about 200–300mm below ground, fill the hole back in with the chippings or topsoil, and you can plant straight over it.
