Garden Design in Dublin.
Reworking tired gardens since the lockdown.

Most of our design jobs aren't blank canvases — they're Dublin gardens that worked when the kids were small but don't anymore, or that have been dragging the look of the house down for years. We sit down with you, work out what's worth keeping, and rework the rest.

What We Mean by "Garden Design"

A lot of garden-design quotes you'll get in Dublin come from one of two camps: a designer who'll draw a beautiful plan and then disappear, leaving you to find a builder; or a builder who'll happily install whatever you point at but won't push back if the plan doesn't make sense for the space.

We do both halves. We walk the garden, talk about how you actually use it, what works, what's broken, what you want gone. Then we draw something realistic for the space, the budget and the Irish weather, and our crew installs it. Same people from first sketch to final tidy.

Most of our design work is reworking gardens that are tired or no longer fit — moving the lawn, replacing crumbling paving with decking, ripping out overgrown beds and starting fresh, opening up a closed-in feeling. We're not a fancy architectural studio. We're the crew who'll make a Dublin garden actually nice to be in again.

If the garden is mostly fine and just needs a refresh, our Garden Revival service is the better fit — same crew, smaller spec, lower spend.

How a Project Runs

STEP 01

Site visit

Free, no commitment. We walk the garden, take measurements, look at sun, soil, drainage and what's worth keeping. We listen to what you want and what you don't.

STEP 02

Design proposal

A scaled plan with layout, materials and a planting list, plus an itemised quote. We talk through it on a follow-up visit and tweak together until it's right.

STEP 03

Install

Hard landscaping first (paving, decking, edging), then soil prep and turfing or seeding, then planting. Our own crew throughout.

STEP 04

Aftercare

Written care notes for the first year, plus an optional maintenance package if you'd rather we keep it looking sharp than learn pruning yourself.

Common Questions

What's the difference between Garden Design and Garden Revival?

Garden Revival is a refresh — clearance, lawn restoration, fresh planting, fixing fences, getting an existing garden back to looking after itself. Garden Design is a step bigger: we rework the layout itself. New patios or decks, repositioned lawns, new beds, lighting, the lot. Revival is for "this looks tired"; Design is for "this layout doesn't work for us anymore".

Do I need a separate designer or do you design as well?

We do both — design and install. The people drawing it up are the same people putting it in, which means fewer surprises and no finger-pointing if something doesn't translate from paper to ground.

How much does a garden makeover in Dublin cost?

It depends on the size, the materials, and how much hard landscaping (paving, decking) is involved. A small back-garden refresh starts around €4,000–€6,000, a mid-sized rework with new lawn, decking and planting is typically €10,000–€20,000. Every quote is itemised so you see where the budget goes.

What's the best time of year to redesign a garden?

Hard landscaping (paving, decking) we'll do any time of year — Irish weather rarely stops us for more than a day or two. Planting is best done autumn or spring. If you want the garden looking finished for summer, getting design work done over winter is the smart play.

Will the planting actually survive in Dublin?

Yes — we plant for the conditions, not for an Instagram photo. Dublin has cool wet winters and increasingly dry summers. We choose plants that genuinely thrive here: native and naturalised species, hardy perennials, sensible structural shrubs. Everything we plant comes with care notes for the first year.
